European Recycler of Precious Metals Orders 2 Medium Frequency Coreless Induction Melting Furnaces

In August 2013, Ajax TOCCO received an order from a large recycler of electronic scrap in Europe for two medium frequency coreless induction furnaces for the melting of alloys containing precious metal. The furnaces were purchased to replace existing furnaces from another manufacturer.
The scope of supply included:
- (1) 800 kg steel frame furnace with a 450kW, 300-600 Hz pacer solid state medium frequency converter
- (1) 100 kg steel frame furnace with a 100kW, 600Hz pacer solid state medium frequency converter
Technical advantages of the Ajax TOCCO equipment:
- High-flexibility frequency converters with wide range conductance window
- Capability of Ajax TOCCO to determine the stirring pattern in the crucibles, versus power density and frequency
- Capability of Ajax TOCCO to provide a selection of frequencies according to the type of load, and then to the required stirring pattern
- Furnaces equipped with an electromagnetic containment system (yokes) for compliance with EU requirements
